Top 10 Mobile Games of the Year (2019)

As you all know there are more people playing games on mobile than there are on any console or PC. That’s why we decided to come up with a list of the top 10 games that are currently dominating the mobile game market. I hope you enjoy the Top 10 Mobile Games of the Year (2019)!

Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO was one of the most highly anticipated game ever to be released on mobile. There are a few reasons why it was so popular when it came out and why it is still dominating the mobile games market. The first is that this game was one of the first to capitalize on the AR capability that became so common in later games. It allowed users to see the world in a different light through their phones. The prospect that pokemon were all around them just a touch away was innovative and that was enough for most people to get hooked on to the game. If that wasn’t enough, they kept updating the app so that it never got stale. They kept adding features and events which meant that there was something for everyone. The best part though, the absolute best part, is that they stayed true to the game. They didn’t include anything that wasn’t in the original pokemon games. Every item, pokemon, and character was linked to the main game which meant that fans of pokemon found something they could relate to which is why it was so successful from the start.

Slither.io

Slither.io

Slither.io started out as a web address that made quite a hubbub when it launched. The premise of the site was simple. You are a snake that can get bigger by eating orbs that were on the field. Using these orbs you get bigger and longer. The hook of this game was that it was fully multiplayer. You always play against other people that are controlling worms similar to yours. This feature is the reason why this game became so popular because it including multiplayer meant that other people could eat you and you could eat other people. This added a unique challenge to the game because it kept you on your toes. You were always on the lookout for other people, always looking for an opportunity to eat the ones smaller than you and keeping yourself clear of the bigger ones. That same premise also came to mobile but instead of using the mouse to control the worm all you had to do was swipe the screen. That usage of the touchscreen of mobiles was a nice touch and the fact that you can play against other people is why this game remains at the top of the leaderboard of mobile games. There is also the fact that you can customize your worm and your name so that’s always cool because you can flaunt your unique style while you play the game.

Happy Wheels

Happy Wheels

One of the more surprising entries on this list but it deserves its spot. Happy wheels is unique as it is actually a game in which you can make progress instead of just continuously playing the same level. The premise of the game is simple. You control a person that is on a Segway and you have to get to the end of the level. The controls of the game are simple and can be learned in a matter of minutes. The uniqueness of this game lies in the way that it handles when you fail the level. There is only one way that you can fail the level and that is by dying. The game incorporates a lot of fake blood and gore which makes every death different. It also provides a humorous effect so that when you fail a level you won’t be as mad. There are a lot of levels to play in this game and the best part is that new ones keep being added by the creators which keeps the game fresh and fun to play.

Subway Surfers

Subway Surfers

One of the oldest games on this list, Subway Surfers made its debut as an iOS game when Android games weren’t even popular. The reason why Subway Surfers makes this list is because it was a pioneer of a new age. The game is simple and you’re probably already familiar with it. There is a continuous level that you run in. Throughout the level, you have to dodge obstacles, gather powerups, and get as many coins as you can. All the while you are being chased by a cop that is trying to arrest you for spray painting in the train yard. This game inspired hundreds of games and a lot of them came close to capturing the magic of this game but none could match its simplistic controls, popping graphics, and fun gameplay. They didn’t stop improving the game though, they added quests, more skins, different modes, and so much more to keep the player base engaged. It ensured that this game remained one of the few that would stand the test of time. It also came to android which meant that it was exposed to millions of more people giving the game a well-deserved boost in terms of popularity.

Fortnite Mobile

Fortnite Mobile

Literally, anyone who has been on the internet for the last year knows about Fortnite. Fortnite is the defining game that popularized free to play battle royale games. It can be cited as the reason why literally every multiplayer game now has a battle royale mode. From Black Ops’ Black Out to CS:GO’s Danger Zone, it inspired them all and it is easy to see why. The first thing that the game has going for it is that it is free to play on all platforms. So it doesn’t matter if you have a PC, a Playstation, or a mobile, you can play the game for free. The other thing that really brought people towards this game is the fact that this game is really fun to play. The combat is fun, the building mechanic is unique, and the fact that it is only multiplayer makes you feel that you are accomplishing something when you actually win a game. The game has so much that makes it one of the best in the market. The main thing though is that the developers actually listen to feedback and care about the community. If a weapon is overpowered they will remove it, if someone is hacking they will ban them, and if they find a bug they get to fixing it immediately. That coupled with the fact that they keep adding new modes, skins, and maps make sure that people stay hooked on Fortnite. That in itself doesn’t stand out much, the true beauty in the game is the community aspect of it. The game contains a creator mode in which you can make your own levels and publish them for others to play. You can also play levels created by other people. This way there are more than 20 million unique levels to play in the game which makes it well worth your time. That is also the reason why so many people love the game. They can express their creativity through the game and let other people see what they can do when they get to creating levels.

PUBG Mobile

Pubg Mobile

Pubg is often seen by people as the adversary of Fortnite because both are battle royale games that came out at relatively the same time. The difference between the two games is very defined though. Pubg is more about outplaying and out aiming the opponent rather than outbuilding them. That is why the guns in pubg are more realistic, and why more hardcore gamers prefer it. The game initially came out on pc but since then has managed to make its way on both console and mobile. The mobile version is actually really well done as it manages to capture the style and the level of gameplay that can be found on PC. The controls are really easy to get the hang of, and the combat is fluid, but the best part about the game is that you can play with your friends no matter where you are. You can party up, talk to each other in the game, and work together to get that elusive chicken dinner. It’s a great game to sink a lot of time into because although the start of the game may always be the same, the end will always be different.

Pixel Gun 3D

Pixel Gun 3D

Pixel Gun 3D is a fun little game that has become so much more than what it came out as. The game revolves around playing as a pixelated character while you wield all sorts of guns. The game has two modes, singleplayer and multiplayer. The singleplayer of the game is quite fun. You can do what you like as you go through the campaign but the multiplayer is where this game really shines. There are a bunch of modes in the multiplayer which make this game stand out. Modes like coop survival and capture the flag make sure that you actually have to complete objectives rather than just get kills whereas the variety of guns and abilities will have your head spinning. The game can be played online with 10 people and that is why this game is so popular still. It’s a fun multiplayer game that gets constant updates that keeps content fresh and exciting for both newcomers and people that have been playing this game for a while.

Piano Tiles

Piano Tiles

Piano Tiles is one of the more older games on this list and might be the simplest. All you have to do in the game is click on the black tiles while ignoring the white ones. Each level is designed around songs and as you hit these black tiles they will make music. Hitting all of them in quick succession will produce a melody but if you hit a white tile the melody will break and you will fail the level. When this game came out it was an instant hit and its popularity has recently resurged. The game is really fun to play and the best part about it is the melody you get to play when you play the game. It makes you feel like you are a professional pianist playing for a crowd. The game has a bunch of different modes to play ensure that you don’t get bored from playing the same mode over and over again. The game is light-hearted and best enjoyed in short bursts.

Cookie Clicker

Cookie Clicker

This is the oldest game on the list. Cookie Clicker came out in 2013 as a web address and instantly became a hit. The game was coded in one afternoon and was posted on 4chan. Since then it has enjoyed success as a popular game because it was the first entry into the idle game genre. The purpose of the game is to play it so much that you automate everything. That way you can play the game without actually having to do anything. The concept may sound weird but is actually really popular amongst mobile gamers. The game’s uniqueness is not only limited to that though. It also manages to incorporate capitalism, the problems with it, dark humor, and satire all in one single app. That is possible through the various achievements that are available in the game and what you have to do to actually get them.
